Overview

This was the final project in my Game Design Experience course (ARTG 120), and it demonstrates my ability to develop engaging and challenging games while working collaboratively with others to achieve design goals.

Summary

Tower Ascension is a JavaScript game in which the player controls an avatar through various levels filled springs and spikes.
The later levels are especially difficult which require precise movement and jumps.

The gameplay design choices aim to provide players with a challenging and engaging experience. Seemingly simple, the use of arrow keys, double jumps, and springs adds suprising depth to the gameplay, allowing players to overcome obstacles and traverse the environment.
The prominent timer creates a sense of urgency and motivates players to replay levels quickly, increasing the game's replay value. These mechanics are carefully designed to provide a balance between challenge and fun, promoting player skill development.
