  • Detect and capture Web Packet Anomalies to prevent your server stability from running out!
Will you be the highest performing SRE?

Overview

Our studio had the opportunity of creating "Packet Patrol" for the SRE team at Walmart. This game was designed to simulate the detection and containment of web packet anomalies. We engaged in a collaborative effort with the SRE team to ensure that the game met their needs and requirements. In a fast-paced three-day game jam, my colleague and I successfully delivered a working prototype of the game, which we presented to an engineer and department lead.

We also created a slideshow presentation on our development process as well as the benefits of creating a gaming department within Walmart. Our efforts garnered the attention of the SRE team at Walmart, and they've expressed interest in adding more features. We have since added a multivariate mode to complement the single variant mode.

Overall, I am proud of our work and thrilled to have played a key role in bringing this project to fruition. It was a rewarding experience to collaborate with a major corporation and to showcase the value of gamification in corporate settings.

After the completion of the prototype for the Walmart team, we wanted to continue development as we felt that there was potential in the idea and could be restructured to become a successful hyper-casual mobile game. We brought aboard a level designer and another game designer and they provided great feedback and ideas while we brainstormed on a miro-board. So following the meeting, we are renaming & retheming the game from Packet Patrol to ABCD (Alien Burger Conveyor Depot) in order to align with the hyper-casual mobile genre.
