Summary

Tap Hit is an arcade-style puzzle game developed by our studio to expand our knowledge in mobile game development.

The game presents players with real-time challenges to destroy barrels and solve puzzles. To solve these puzzles, players must utilize a variety of power-ups such as Multi-Ball, Size Up, and Teleport. As the player progresses through the levels, they must strategically navigate and activate buttons to advance while carefully managing their remaining shots.

Role Breakdown

  • Collaborated with a colleague to develop game mechanics, power-ups, and progression systems
  • Designed and implemented an interactive main menu that used game mechanics as a tutorial
  • Created a player progression system using blueprints and C++ to enable players to unlock perks and progress further in the game
  • Developed a Figma greybox prototype of the potential shop & advancement perks
  • Experimented with and developed two different types of input: aim-to-shoot versus tap-to-shoot and conducted playtests to determine which type of gameplay mechanic players preferred
